The Governing Body of Horwich Parish C.E Primary School is seeking to appoint an experienced Site Manager to join our team to manage the school building on Church Street  for 37 hours a week, spilt shift,  Monday to Friday all year round  (flexible to meet the needs of the school and may involve some late evening locking up)

Duties and responsibilities include:

·   Having a working knowledge of all aspects of statutory compliance requirements

·   To maintain and develop the school building and grounds ensuring all aspects of health and safety , cleanliness and basic repairs are carried out to the highest standard

·   To carry out routine maintenance and basic repairs during the school day and monitor major works during school holidays.  

·   To manage the work of contractors on site and monitor services provided externally, such as cleaning and grounds maintenance. 

·   The Site Manager will also be responsible, for the use of the school facilities out of school hours, including evenings and weekends. 

·   In order to carry out these important responsibilities the Site Manager will be on site throughout term time and holidays will usually be taken during school holidays.

·   The person appointed will have knowledge and skills relating to buildings maintenance and health and safety requirements in public buildings. 

·   Experience and skills to carry out repairs and minor building works will be particularly welcome.  Commitment and attention to detail are required in order to maintain high standards of cleanliness in a busy and crowded environment. 

·   The ability to lead and organise their work as well as good administrative skills including use of pc and emails. 

·   Positive and supportive relationships with staff and children will help make this challenging post rewarding and enjoyable.

This post is permanent and the successful candidate will be employed by the school governors on behalf of the local authority. This post is subject to a six months probationary period in line with Local Authority Guidelines
