The Council is seeking to recruit  2 Commissioning Officers on a fixed term contract up to 12 months, to play a vital role in remodelling and redesigning services for citizens of Bolton.  One role will focus on Older Peoples Commissioning and the other will focus on Disability Commissioning.

 

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate a good understanding of the management and operation of Health and Social Care Services, and have a detailed understanding of the legal and policy context to the commissioning of public services.  Highly developed communication skills in order to prepare, plan and write complex reports and strategies are essential together with the ability to network, to develop sustained relationships to deliver on a range of projects within a busy office environment.

 

The post holders will:

·         Develop Commissioning Intention plans for specific service areas including researching service models, undertaking options analysis, policy and practice.

·         Coordinate the development of the market capacity building including coproduction.

·         Develop and evidence base for decision making on services.  

·         Review specific services to make proposals on re-commissioning or decommissioning.

·         Produce procurement documentation and playing a key role in delivering tenders/grant making.

·         Disability Commissioning Officer – the focus will be to commission services for people with learning disabilities, people with mental health issues and for people with autism and developing and planning better services for young people transitioning into adulthood.

The  successful candidates will join the Department of People Services -  Commissioning Team at an exciting time where the council is seeking to reshape and join up service provision to better meet needs and deliver outcomes for customers.
