Do you want to be involved in driving the Council’s digital approach forward?  Do you have the technical and personal skills and strengths to understand the issues that our business is facing and identify and deploy solutions to address them? If so this is the role for you.

You will be working across the Council’s service teams, dealing with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation. Identifying how existing or new ICT solutions, and in particular Office 365 applications, can be exploited to help them improve the delivery of their services. You will be involved in defining projects that align and deliver against the Council’s digital strategy and contribute to improving performance of our Council services.

You will be approachable and have the confidence to deal with staff at all level across the council, ICT Partnership and the ICT managed service. You will bring strong analytical skills to identify the key issues facing the business area and be able to clearly explain the technology solutions that may solve them. You will have likely been involved in supporting users or delivering systems in your current role and bring those skills to play across the wider council. You will have an understanding of technology (application, server and Office 365) and how all the elements of IT combine to deliver solutions to the user. You will have been involved in delivering ICT projects and have an understanding of project methodologies to meet time, cost and quality criteria. You will be supported by experienced colleagues in delivering solutions, and additional technical or project management training will be available.

Bolton Council is on a journey to place ICT and technology at the heart of how it delivers services to each other and its residents and business. We have invested strongly in Microsoft technologies and will be looking to exploit those tools to improve business processes, rationalise applications and deliver value for money services. We want your expertise and skills to help us get there.
