Governance Support Officer

Salary: Grade F £23,836 to £26,999 pro rata
Hours: 37 hours per week Term Time only  (plus overtime potential)
Contract: Permanent

As well as attending a number of governing board meetings and taking detailed minutes, the post holder should have the ability to present information clearly and assertively. You would provide support, advice and guidance on governance law and procedure to assist governors and head teachers in their leadership and management role. Whilst the role offer flexibility within the allocated hours, there will be a need to work some evenings, which can be paid as overtime.

You should have an understanding of the role of governors and governing boards within the management structure of a school or academy and although experience in governance and academy law and procedure would be desirable, it is not essential as training will be provided.

You must have the ability to work on your own initiative and be able to demonstrate good planning and organisational skills as well as being competent in word processing and the use of the Microsoft Windows package. (Word, Excel and Outlook) Evening working will be required and the post holder may be required to work from home on occasion.
