1 X fixed term contract (Maternity Cover)

6 hours per week (Grade 6 £11.62 - £13.31 per hour)



Working in various communities across the borough you will be part of a responsive team that engages young people involved in or at risk of anti-social behaviour.  You will offer support and guidance for young people and signpost them into local positive activities.

Happy to work in all weathers and a real passion for working with young people and the community.  You will need to be patient, a good communicator and have the ability to use your initiative in an ever changing environment.  With a basic level of fitness you will be happy to walk in various communities during unsociable hours.  You will have the ability to complete monitoring forms and reports based on the information gathered during the sessions. 

The outreach/detached team are part of the Play and Youth Service who plan, deliver and manage positive activities for young people across Bolton.  Working in partnership with the Local Area Policing Team you will actively engage with young people in the community and signpost them to Play & Youth Service provision.  The service aims to  contribute to the emotional, physical and social development of young people. These hours will be worked initially on Thursday and Friday evenings, but this can change dependent on the needs of the service.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.  An enhanced DBS with both adults and children’s barred list check is therefore required for this post.

This post is a designated a customer facing role under the fluency duty and requires a specified level of spoken English as per the person specification.
