The Bolton Assessment Service offers a comprehensive range of mental health assessments and interventions within one multi-disciplinary team so that all patients over the age of 16 with a suspected or actual mental health problem can be assessed, treated signposted or referred appropriately regardless of age, presenting complaint, time of presentation or severity. 

 
We are looking for a dynamic and experienced social worker to work within this fast paced team. You will have first hand experience of working in mental health services and carrying out in depth assessments. We are based at Royal Bolton Hospital and also oversee the running and management of Bolton’s place of safety (136 suite).  

The service operates 12 hours a day 7 days a week (working hours are 9/5 or 1/9).   The service is provided by GMMH NHS FT a specialist Mental Health Trust.

About You

We are looking to recruit a social worker- Grade 8 to the Bolton Assessment Service. We are looking for an individual who is flexible, creative, committed and able to adapt positively to change. You should also be able to work effectively taking a holistic approach to assessment and treatment working in partnership with service users and their carer’s promoting independence and recovery of people with mental health difficulties. You will need to be able to work effectively as a member of a multi-disciplinary team, respecting the input of all the professions and professionals within this.
 
As a Social Worker within in the Bolton Assessment Service you will assess service users using identified assessments and risk assessments. You will be expected to work proactively and flexibly within a multi-disciplinary team model.

You will also be expected to participate in the extended hours service, which would incurr weekend working on a off duty rota basis.
