Grade: C SCP 4 £9.55 Per hour
Location: Mayors Street Depot, Bolton

The Role: Vacancies have arisen for Casual Passenger Assistants to work for Bolton Council’s Social Needs Transport Unit. The main role of this post is to escort children who have special educational needs to and from specialist schools, the post is a casual post covering for staff holidays and sickness; casual staff are required to be available at short notice.

Core Hours: 07.30 -900 and 14.45 – 16.15

About You:  Able to work with both children and adults who have various needs with dignity and respect and able to communicate with parents/carers in a friendly and understanding manner.  Must be flexible and motivated and able to follow instructions and deal with emergencies in a calm manner.  

About Us:
   Social Needs Transport is Bolton Council’s Passenger Transport department who have the responsibility of transport approximately 800 children and 250 adult/elderly clients to and from schools and day centres.  We can offer a comprehensive training package and plenty of on the job coaching and support to the right candidates.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.  A DBS check is therefore required for this post.  

This post is a designated customer facing role under the fluency duty and requires a specified level of spoken English as per the person specification.
