LEARNING MENTOR MATERNITY COVER
Learning Mentor – Grade F, Scale point 17-23 £20,948 - £23,728
37 hours/week, term time plus 5 annual training days
Starting 15th March until Friday 22nd October or until Post Holder returns, whichever is soonest
The Governors of Heathfield would like to appoint a member of staff to cover the upcoming maternity leave of our current Learning Mentor.
The successful candidate will need to have:
- Excellent communication and listening skills;

- Assertiveness in dealing with pupils and fellow professionals;
- The ability to empathise;
- A non-judgemental approach;
- Excellent organisational and time management skills;
- The capacity to motivate and act as a role model;
- Strong negotiation skills;
- Flexibility and adaptability, as well as the ability to work well under pressure;
- Report writing skills and the ability to maintain accurate records;
- A clear commitment to equality and diversity;
- An understanding of confidentiality and the handling of sensitive information;
- A commitment to safeguarding
- Effective behaviour management skills

The successful applicant will join the Heathfield pastoral team, reporting to the Assistant Head, who is our SENCO, and will contribute to the high standard of teaching and learning in the school through their pivotal role in pastoral support and parental liaison.
Specific duties include;
- Managing attendance and producing analysis reports
- Home collection for pupils with attendance difficulties (Post COVID)
- Behaviour support lead
- Nurture lead
- Parent liaison, including running parent workshops
- Leading daily outdoor lunchtime play
- Attending safeguarding meetings
- Completing Early Help Assessments
- Liaising with external agencies

This is a temporary contract to cover the maternity of our Learning Mentor.
