Housing Options Officer - Rough Sleeping Move-On Officer

Location: Town Hall, Bolton, BL1 1RU 
Essential Requirements: Driving 

The Role: 
Bolton Council has secured funding from the Ministry of Housing and Local Government (MHCLG) to tackle rough sleeping, through the Government’s Rough Sleeping Strategy. 

ü  Rough Sleeper Move-On Officer (Local Lettings Agency - Rapid Rehousing Pathway) (37hrs)  will play a lead role in developing working relationships with landlords and maximise opportunities for access to private rented accommodation for rough sleepers and other homeless people.

ü  Work closely with LLA Project Officer, outreach workers and other agencies to provide a co-ordinated response to supporting rough sleepers into suitable settled accommodation and in particular private rented accommodation


About You: 
As Rough Sleeping Move-On Officer you will:

ü  have excellent communication skills, working effectively with landlords and tenants to secure and sustain tenancies and respond to any issue sensitively ensuring that successful outcomes are achieved;

 

ü  be skilled in negotiation, able to build trust and confidence with both landlords and people in need in order to increase access to private rented accommodation;

 

be able to demonstrate initiative, quickly assimilate information, demonstrate excellent networking and time management skills and  an ability to plan and successfully improve access for rough sleepers to private rented accommodation.
