Salary: Grade H Scp 27 £30,507 to Scp 31 £33,799 per annum (Plus essential car user allowance)
Hours: 37 Hours per week
Contract: Fixed term contract for a duration of 1 year
Applicants must hold a professional qualification at degree level in related field eg; Youth work/ policing/social work or related field OR significant practical experience in an advocacy/youth work or participation setting with the ability to evidence strategic and operational engagement to improve outcomes for young people. Applicants must also hold a full, current and valid driving licence and a vehicle with a current valid MOT certificate.
The Role:
The post holder will be responsible for coordinating and delivering an appropriate schedule of participation activities for Care Leavers, offering direct support where necessary to encourage engagement and will be supported by the wider Participation Team situated within People’s Services.
The post holder will assist Young People to become fully involved in consultation, decision making processes and the design and delivery of Young People’s services in Bolton and develop and maintain a Care Leavers’ Forum.
The post holder will directly contribute to the agenda of the Corporate Parenting Board. The post holder will take the lead on maintaining and updating the Care Leavers Offer
About You:
ideal candidate will have experience of working directly with young people. A professional qualification at degree level in a related field (eg education, social work, youth work etc.) is required OR significant practical experience in an advocacy or participation setting.
The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, a good communicator, able to advocate for young people and have skills in motivating and encouraging young people to access opportunities to promote positive outcomes.
You will also be organised, able to meet deadlines, prepare reports analyzing data in order to influence a variety of audiences.

The Leaving Care Team are a fast moving team committed to getting the best outcomes for all of our young people.
The Leaving Care Team support young people and offer financial support to 16 - 18 year olds who are not in full employment, support for care leavers in higher education and give advice and support and guidance in relation to accommodation, finance, training and employment. The team also give advice and support to young homeless people who are from Bolton.
The job will be varied with no day the same, setting huge challenges with great rewards.
We will offer a comprehensive induction programme and the opportunity to lead and be creative in the design of the service.
You will be provided with regular reflective supervision helping you to further develop your skills in this role.
