Bolton Music Service (Greater Manchester Music Hub) is seeking to appoint an inspirational Leader of Vocal and Choral Development. Bolton Music Service has an enviable reputation for quality vocal and choral work and so this is an exciting role for a vocal specialist to take us to the next level and to make a difference to the musical lives of children and young people across Bolton, Blackburn with Darwen and Greater Manchester. The ideal candidate will be able to teach singing in primary and secondary schools, lead and support a range of choirs, direct performances, and design vocal projects to inspire teachers and  young people. They will also have the chance to create new singing programmes which will ensure that quality vocal work remains at the heart of our work as a music service and a music hub.

You will be absolutely committed to the value of singing in our schools and in our community, and you will be an inspirational advocate for this work. You will have experience of working with young singers in primary and secondary schools, and of leading and supporting choirs. You will be very skilled at engaging young people through your own singing voice and also through your  musical personality. You will make very positive relationships with colleagues in the music service and in schools and will embrace the opportunity to work alongside other experienced teachers. With excellent communication and interpersonal skills, you will engage positively with pupils, parents, teachers, school leaders and partners.

Bolton Music Service is the lead organisation in the Greater Manchester Music Hub. We are a vibrant local music service, working across Bolton and Blackburn with Darwen, with an expanding traded service for schools and parents, and a partner charity which supports all of our inclusion work. We have a very high quality workforce both in the Music Service and the GM Music Hub and you will have the chance to work alongside some outstanding and committed practitioners. You will have the chance to co-design new projects at both local and regional levels and to contribute to the extensive training programme for schools and teachers.
