Governance Development Officer

Salary: Grade.G.. £26,999  - £30,507  Pro rata
Hours: 37 Hours per week  Term time plus 2 weeks
Contract: Permanent

The Governance Development Officer post play a vital role in supporting the development of governors, trustees and  boards through training, information sharing, clerking and self evaluation to enable them to effectively fulfil their strategic role in school improvement.

The successful candidate will be working alongside governing and trust boards in a bid to develop and cultivate their understanding of effective strategic leadership, through review, assessment and guided learning. They should have experience in presenting information effectively to a wide range of people including public speaking. The post holder should have excellent written and verbal skills, be able to analyse, assimilate, interpret and apply complex information, particularly governance legislation and procedures. There will be an expectation that the successful candidate provide clerking support, including minute taking to a small allocation of boards.
