Mobile School Crossing Patrol

Salary: Grade 2 £8.45 to £8.54 an hour, plus casual car user allowance
Hours: 10 hours per week (2 hours per day, 1 hour in the morning and 1 hour in the afternoon)
Contract type: Permanent position, based at various locations

The Role:
Observing children approaching the crossing and identifying if they wish to cross the road. Keeping children in a safe position away from the kerb edge. Monitoring and assessing the movement of traffic to ascertain a safe opportunity to display the prescribed sign. Ensure children and adult have crossed the road before returning to the pavement. Carry out Patrol duties in accordance with the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. To promote good customer care.

About You:
You must have access to a vehicle and be able to travel at short notice to various locations within Bolton. An ability to react appropriately with varied traffic situations. Good communication and interpersonal skills especially dealing with children. An ability to be punctual for duty times and work on own initiative with minimum supervision. To remain calm when dealing with conflict. To have good eyesight, hearing and demonstrate physical ability. To work in inclement weather.
