This is an exciting opportunity to join a key team in the Department of People.  The Commissioning Team has a key role in the planning, design, and procurement of services.  Working closely with other departments, statutory partners, users of services and their carers, and  providers you will be involved in all aspects of the commissioning cycle to ensure customers achieve their outcomes and to support the council in delivering value for money.   

The successful applicants will work within the Older People's section of the commissioning team supporting key areas of work including care at home, extra care housing, and residential care homes, to deliver high quality, best value services to meet the needs of service users.  


We are looking for people who can work on their own initiative and also act as a proactive team member, who have good communication skills you will be able to make strong connections to our provider market, local citizens and users of the services.  

You will need to  have good knowledge of the commissioning cycle  and be able to demonstrate skills and experience in understanding the needs of local residents and the provider market.  Identifying challenges and gaps in provision you will be able to deliver commissioning plans and strategies and play a key role in the implementation of service change which improve the outcomes for service users and value for money for the Council. 

We will offer skills development opportunities in this key area of council activity.  You will be joining the team at an exciting time when the council is working more closely with NHS Bolton CCG to reshape and join up service provision, as we look to better meet the needs of, and deliver successful outcomes for our customers.
