Job Title – Community Safety Officer

Team – Community Safety Services

Hours – 37 per week

Grade H, scp27 to scp31, £31,346 to £34,728 per annum

Up to 12 month fixed term contract

 

The Role

 

Do you want to make a difference and help achieve safer communities?

We are looking to recruit a forward thinking and enthusiastic Community Safety Officer to join a dynamic and experienced Community Safety Team. The post will play a vital role in how the council works with stakeholders to respond to community safety issues at both an operational and strategic level. You will build relationships with partners such as; police, fire, Registered Social Landlords, VCSE organisations, as well key services across the council. Key areas of focus for this role include:

 

Responding to crime and disorder threats adopting proven problem solving approaches

Developing and implementing strategies to community safety issues

Coordinate and lead multi-agency responses and influence to tackle crime and disorder issues.

Contribute to the learning and knowledge of Bolton Council and the Community Safety Partnership to ensure services / projects are based on good evidence and sound principles.

 

About You

 

We are looking for individuals who are flexible, creative, committed and able to adapt positively to change. As a highly motivated and innovative individual you will have a good working knowledge of the role local government plays in improving community safety outcomes. You understand the importance of community engagement and citizen involvement in building safer communities. You should have experience of developing and delivering interventions designed to prevent crime, anti-social behaviour and the fear of crime, working across a system to improve outcomes. This includes skills required to develop and implement strategies that improve community safety and safer communities. You will be a strong influencer with an understanding of how partner agencies can contribute to delivering community safety outcomes.
