Grade 7 SCP 29-33, £25,951-£29,323 pro rata (Actual salary £22,595 - £25,531)

Full time 37 hours per week; Term time + 10 days

8.30am – 4.30pm (half hour unpaid break & 4.00 pm finish on Fridays)

Required! - an exceptionally able professional to co-ordinate the safeguarding and additional needs care of primary pupils to ensure the removal of those barriers hindering academic and social progress  

We are a 3-19 all age fully inclusive Academy on an exciting journey to become an outstanding organisation and delighted to be able to offer state-of-the-art facilities in a new £36 million building providing staff with the opportunity to work in a cutting edge and vibrant environment.

It is an exciting time to be joining us as we work hard to improve and bring in line our KS4 outcomes with those in our primary and 6th form phases which are already considered to be good. We are in the final stages of consultation to join two outstanding schools in the newly formed Bishop Fraser Trust - St James’s C of E High School and Canon Slade School, where there will be opportunities to work collaboratively within the wider MAT community, sharing good practice and building on the much needed improvement work and progress that has been taking place in our secondary phase this year.

Our primary children make exceptional progress from their starting points through the collaborative efforts of the whole staff team. You will ensure that primary pupils gain access to the support that is specific to their needs both academically and pastorally through the coordination of intervention provision resulting in:                                                                

  • Children being safe both in and outside school
  • Good academic outcomes (compared to local and national benchmarks)
  • Good attendance and punctuality
  • Development of home school links
  • Effective multiagency working relationships                                     

 

Preferably with previous school experience, you will be someone who:

  • has a passion for seeing young children thrive and achieve their full potential.
  • has experience of working with external agencies
  • demonstrates personal integrity and professionalism and role models those personal qualities we wish to instil in our pupils
  • has the ability and willingness to work flexibly to meet the demands of the role
  • is able to work under independently, under pressure and to deadlines
  • can work collaboratively with colleagues teaching and non – teaching
  • has excellent interpersonal skills and be able to form positive and supportive relationships with children and their parents
  • believes our children deserve the best provision and care and will advocate on their behalf and challenge appropriately where this is not the case
  • has detailed knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures
  • has proven experience of supporting children with SEND
