This is a new role and presents an exciting opportunity to develop and deliver a pilot welfare benefits support project across a number of busy community venues. You will be supporting the residents of Bolton to claim and maintain their welfare benefit entitlements by developing and delivering benefit surgeries.
You will have appropriate welfare benefits knowledge and experience and be able to assist customers with benefits applications and reconsiderations. You will also support people through the assessment and reconsideration process as appropriate. You will need to keep accurate records and be able to report on project outcomes for the steering group and management board. You will be comfortable working largely on your own but with access to a welfare rights team leader when required.
The project is being delivered through Bolton Welfare Rights Service on behalf of Bolton Community homes and is funded for up to a 12 month period. A casual car allowance will be payable.
This post is a designated customer facing role under the fluency duty and requires a specified level of spoken English as per the person specification.
