An enthusiastic Year Leader is required to provide pastoral support for individual students and groups. The successful candidate would be supporting the year 9 population. The post will require a person experienced in behaviour management strategies and an ability to offer a wide range of mentoring and support services. The post is available for an immediate start.

YEAR LEADER 
Grade 6 SCP 25 – 29
 (Actual salary pro rata per annum £18,193 - £20,837)
 37 Hours – Term Time plus 5 days – Permanent

The post holder is to be responsible for leading a year group and provide pastoral support and guidance to enable pupils to achieve their potential in school, with the ability to:

• Promote, develop and maintain effective and supportive professional relationships with students
• Support students and their engagement with school
• Deal with incidents of misconduct and to promote positive behaviour
• Communicate effectively with parents/carers and relevant external agencies to support students
• To liaise with the Attendance & Welfare Manager to support students in ensuring that their attendance and punctuality enables them to make expected progress

The school was described by Ofsted as a ‘thoroughly good’ school with high expectations and where staff receive good training and feel valued. Students have positive attitudes towards their learning and behave with consideration and respect for others.

The school is committed to safer recruitment practice and pre-employment checks will be undertaken before any appointment is confirmed.  This post is subject to an enhanced disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
