The Council is undergoing a transformation project to develop a ‘Digital Council’ to improve the online offer to internal and external customers.
We have a vacancy for a Web Technology Analyst / Developer in the Customer Service Division to work with client services to lead development projects to improve the digital customer experience.
We are looking for individuals with experience and detailed knowledge of designing and building websites using web technologies, such as HTML, CSS, JS, ASP, XML, .NET, FTP, PHP+ and Sharepoint and microsoft office applications
The following skills and approach to customer led digital design will also be required:
Leadership skills for projects, managing risks and stakeholders and coordinating activity
A focused, creative developer who can complete innovative solutions to deadlines
A self-motivated individual who can initiate and deliver projects in conjunction with stakeholders
Experience in working in developing responsive web design using Agile development method
Interpersonal and communication skills and able to work closely with client services within and outside of the Council
Able to listen, analyse data from various sources and develop solutions with others
A track record of delivering projects on time and to specification
Flexible in thinking and approach, taking into account new and emerging digital applications
The Customer Service Division is the main customer contact centre for Bolton Council. The Division provides a quality information and advice service for the residents, service users, businesses and visitors to Bolton.
One of the most important channels for Customer Service delivery is online services. The Digital Development (Web) Team is responsible for designing, developing and improving the digital customer experience.
The team manages sites on behalf of the Council and its partners, including Bolton.gov.uk, Visit Bolton and Business Bolton and for the prodigious Food and Drink festival.
