Working Pattern: 7:30 – 9:00 and/or 15:00 – 18:15 – Please specify on application if you are applying for full hours, just Breakfast Club or After School Club
Contract Type: 1 year fixed contract

 The Governors of The Oaks are seeking to appoint a before and after school club play worker to support the club manager in providing a high quality provision for pupils aged between 4 – 11 years, working in our Breakfast Club and/or After School Club.
 
The role will involve:
· Assisting with planning, preparing and delivering a wide range of exciting activities for pupils from the early years, KS1 and KS2.
· To provide comprehensive care for The Oaks children including collecting them from their classrooms and extra-curricular clubs, within the school grounds.
· To provide refreshments, ensuring that hygiene and health & safety standards are met.
· To administer first aid when necessary.
· To consult with children and involve them in planning activities.
· To support the club manager with administration, including record keeping, registers and manage resources.
· To facilitate good communication with all members of the club, parents, school staff and childcare and play related agencies.
· To attend meetings as appropriate.
· To undertake appropriate and relevant training.
· To keep the work environment healthy, safe and secure.
· To work within agreed club policies and procedures, including safeguarding, health & safety and behaviour management.
· To deal with all confidential matters with tact and discretion.
· Attend to the toileting and personal hygiene of younger pupils.
· Such other duties, as may reasonably be required within the grading of the post.
· To engage the children in play, encouraging them to join in with planned activities.
 
The successful candidate will: -
 ·         Hold a relevant qualification to at least a NVQ Level 2 or suitable equivalent that would support the role.
·         Have experience of working as part of a team.
·         Be hard working, professional and reliable with good time keeping.
·         Be committed to the ongoing development of the club and its team.
·         Have a successful history of working with children and young people in the primary age range.
 
It would be desirable to hold the following: -
 
·         Food Hygiene Level 2 qualification
·         Pediatric first aid qualification
