Teaching Assistant – KS1

LEVEL 2 plus Special Educational Needs allowance

Location: Chorley New Road Primary School

Salary Grade: Grade 4 SCP 17 to 21

Salary: Full time range £17,772 - £20,138 plus £ 1,239 SEN allowance per annum.  Actual salary pro-rated to £14,610 - £16,429

Working Pattern: Part time

Working Hours: 33.5 hours per week – Term time + 5 days

Contract Type:  Fixed term until 20th July 2018

Closing Date:  Wednesday 13th December at 4pm

Job Type: Education School based, School Support Staff

Interview and Observation Date: Monday 18th December

 

The Governors invite applications from committed, dedicated and suitably qualified practitioners with a proven track record of success ensuring pupils can access the curriculum in the most effective way. Our pupils are excellent learners and we are looking for a teaching assistant who can work alongside other staff to ensure positive impact on pupil achievement.

 

The successful candidate MUST;

 

· have experience of working as a teaching assistant in a school setting

 

and 

· be able to evidence experience of working with children with Special Educational Needs, particularly children with autism.

 

We are looking for an outstanding professional who can work well as part of a team and is a patient and kind individual who can work in KS21 with a pupil with specific SEN needs.

 

You should be able to;

 

· Communicate well with children who have additional needs

· Support the class teacher and SENCO in all aspects

· Demonstrate drive and skills to raise standards of pupils’ attainment and achievement

· Support the differentiation and delivery of the curriculum in your area and be prepared to undertake professional learning to support this 

· Support the planning and delivery of intervention enabling access to learning for all pupils

· Support classroom management and behaviour techniques as directed

 

This post will also cover some dinner time duties.

 

In addition you must:

 

· Be committed to continued professional development

· Be committed to the education and social well-being of every child in the school

· Continue to build and maintain effective relationships with the school, school community and partners

· Be happy, enthusiastic and friendly
