Grade 3 £8.54 to £9.21 per hour
Must hold a D1 licence

The Role:
Vacancies have arisen for Casual Driver/Attendants to work for Bolton Council’s Social Needs Transport Unit, to drive minibuses to and from day centres transporting vulnerable children and adults in a safe manner. The post is a casual post covering for staff holidays and sickness; casual staff are required to be available at short notice and must hold a D1 licence.

About You:
Able to work with both children and adults who have various needs with dignity and respect  able to communicate with parents/carers in a friendly and understanding manner.  Must have a good level of physical fitness, you’ll be flexible and motivated and able to follow instructions and deal with emergencies in a calm manner.   Previous experience is not necessary but knowledge of the local area would be preferred.

About Us:
Social Needs Transport is Bolton Council’s Passenger Transport department who have the responsibility of transport approximately 800 children and 250 adult/elderly clients to and from schools and day centres.  We deliver meals and wheels to over 250 clients daily and operate 52 weeks a year. We can offer a comprehensive training package and plenty of on the job coaching and support to the right candidates.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.  A DBS check is therefore required for this post.  

This post is a designated customer facing role under the fluency duty and requires a specified level of spoken English as per the person specification.
