This is an opportunity for an enthusiastic colleague to join Bolton EPS, a well respected and successful part traded service. This role involves providing consultation and advice for parents/carers, children’s services colleagues, health professionals and relevant others, to assist in meeting the needs of Bolton children and young people aged 0-25 years. The post involves responding to requests for assessment, consultation, training and group-work from schools, settings and the Local Authority. The postholder would also be required to undertake statutory assessments of children and write psychological advice as required. The postholder would be involved in the Critical Incident Support Service.

Applicants should be registered, or eligible for registration, with the Health and Care Professions Council, have a degree in psychology and must either have a postgraduate qualification in Educational Psychology (either at Masters or Doctoral level) or be about to complete this qualification.

We welcome applications from those completing their training in July 2019 or July 2020 and also welcome applications from those wishing to work full time, part time or term time only.

With an excellent understanding of children and young people’s cognitive, social and emotional development, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills, you will work with a wide range of stakeholders in order to ensure that the special educational needs of children and young people are met and their outcomes are improved. 

Bolton Educational Psychology Service (EPS) has an exciting opportunity for a maingrade Educational Psychologist to join our team. This post offers an opportunity to deliver educational psychology support to a range of Early Years, school and Post 16 settings through both traded and statutory work. This post also provides an opportunity for an enthusiastic, committed and creative colleague to work closely with a range of partners in order to achieve the best possible outcomes for children and young people with SEND. In addition to school-based casework there will be opportunities to deliver training, attend multi-agency meetings and undertake Early Years work. 

Bolton EPS is a small friendly team. We are well regarded within the LA and we have been extremely successful in our move to a part traded service. The demand for our service is high. We can offer pleasant office facilities and opportunities to work remotely.
