Are you interested in joining an innovative team supporting older people with complex mental health diagnosis including Dementia, functional mental health, dual diagnosis and brain injury?

 

Bolton Cares, your local care provider, is developing a new service to support older people to stay at home longer, connected to their families and communities.

We are looking for individuals with a sound value base and experience in supporting older people with a mental health diagnosis.  You will treat everyone you support with dignity and understanding and have a good understanding of the phases of Dementia and the impact this can have on the behaviour of individuals and their carers.


You need to be a strong team player, passionate about supporting people with a range of needs, and willing to go the extra mile. An excellent communicator, you will understand that all behaviour is communication and will strive to build strong, empowering relationships with those you support. Having a positive outlook, a flexible approach and a genuine interest in understanding the needs of older people with mental health problems including dementia is essential.


The service will be available to people 7 days a week between the hours of 8 a.m. and 8 p.m.  You will provide a wide range of support including help with personal care, household tasks, medical appointments, wellbeing support and respite support to family cares.

 

The salary for Support Workers will be £17,736 pro rata £9.19 per hour. You will be contracted to work 30 hours per week working on a flexible rota to meet the complex needs of the people we support.  A workplace pension will be offered along with access to a comprehensive training programme. The role involves regular use of IT packages; therefore, a standard of IT would be desirable. You will need to hold a full UK or EU driver’s license and have a car that you can use for business purposes.
