The Role – Bolton Council has secured funding from the Ministry of Housing and Local Government (MHCLG) to tackle rough sleeping, through the Government’s Rough Sleeping Strategy.  Project Officer (Local Lettings Agency - Rapid Rehousing Pathway) (37hrs)  will play a lead role in delivering a Local Lettings Agency to maximise access to private rented accommodation for rough sleepers and other homeless people.  

You will work closely with partner agencies and private landlords to develop and deliver a co-ordinated response to improve access to private rented sector accommodation and work flexibly across the week to maximise engagement with private landlords.

About You – As Local Lettings Agency Project Officer you will:  have excellent communication skills, working effectively with landlords and tenants to sustain tenancies and respond to any disputes sensitively ensuring that successful outcomes are achieved;  skilled in negotiation, able to build trust and confidence with both landlords and people in need in order to increase access to private rented accommodation;  

To be able to demonstrate initiative, quickly assimilate information, demonstrate excellent project and time management skills and  an ability to plan and successfully deliver increased landlord take-up and improved access.

NB: The funding for this post is time limited to 12 months and as such is exempted from Bolton Council’s policy to provide automatic rights to redeployment for those employed for 12 months or longer.
