Level 2 Teaching Assistant - The Gates Primary School
The Gates Primary School is seeking to appoint a talented and inspiring Level 2 Teaching Assistant to join our friendly and dedicated team. The posts are fixed term until 31st August 2020 and the starting date is 1st September 2019. The school will consider making these roles permanent after this dependent on school needs. The hours are 15 hours per week and will each afternoon during the week.
The Gates Primary School is a happy, exciting and busy community primary school currently catering for over 330 wonderful children between the ages of three and eleven years. Our main criterion for the appointments is an excellent teaching assistant, who loves teaching with an absolute commitment and willingness to continue to learn, reflect and improve.
We are seeking to appoint Teaching Assistants who:

Essential Qualifications:
- Holder of an NVQ Level 2, BTEC Level 2 or equivalent in Teaching Assistant or Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools
- GCSE or equivalent in Maths and English

Essential Experience:
- Evidence of a high standard of classroom practice
- A commitment to setting high standards and expectations
- The ability to communicate and work effectively with children, parents and adults

Essential Criteria:
- The successful candidate should show a willingness to be involved in the wider life of the school
- Experience of working with children in a school setting
- A commitment to own further professional development

Desirable experience/criteria
- Experience working with small SEND groups of children
- Experience working with or knowledge of working memory and/or cognition and learning difficulties
- Experience working with pupil with social communication difficulties such as autistic spectrum disorder
- Experience working with pupils who have fine motor difficulties such as hypermobility
- Experience of working with pupils who have speech, language communication needs and programmes that may support their needs such as talking partners

Salary - Grade D SCP 6 (£19,171 pro rata)
Timeline:
- Closing date for applications is 9th Sept 2019 – 12pm
- Shortlisting takes place on 10th Sept 2019
- Tasks/lesson observation (stage one) will be schedule on 16th Sept 2019 (afternoon)
- Interviews (stage two) will be held on 23rd Sept (morning)
-  Visits to view the school can be accommodated on Weds 4th Sept at 4pm and Thursday 5th Sept at 9am. An informal visit to the school is encouraged and warmly welcomed. Please contact the school by telephone to arrange a visit.
