The Role:

We are seeking to recruit an effective leader to be responsible for the strategic and operational management of our School Meals and Building Cleaning Service.

 

Reporting to the Director of Place, you will be responsible for a team of operational managers, support staff and circa 700 frontline staff.

 

The service plays a key role in supporting the Bolton 2030 Vision outcome of ensuring ‘our children get the best possible start in life, so that they have every chance to succeed and be happy’.

About You:

You will have extensive operational management experience and advanced knowledge of the commercial food industry and cleaning industry in relation to large-scale contracts (often delivered across multiple sites) in the education sector and business/commercial sector.

 

You will possess dynamic leadership skills and be an excellent communicator with broad experience of engaging with key stakeholders, including Headteachers, Business Managers, parents, children and young people, and elected members to promote service development and excellence.

 

You need to be a forward thinker and passionate about the service - someone who can effectively manage, persuade and negotiate within a commercial setting and bring forward innovative solutions. You will also be able to adapt to change easily and have a high level of financial acumen and experience of working in the public sector.
