Job Description

We have a unique opportunity to appoint 2 full time Development Officers on a fixed term basis to join the Start Well Service.  In the spring budget 2023, the government announced a range of measures to support parents return to work more easily, including the expansion of early education and childcare places and wraparound services for school aged children.

Your role will involve working collaboratively with schools, childcare providers and local communities seeking innovative and creative solutions to meet the programme aims of expanding the current funded childcare entitlement for working parents of children aged 9 months and over to 30 hours by September 2025 and ensuring that all primary schools have available to their parents, sustainable wraparound services from 8am -6pm during the school term by September 2026. Your knowledge and experience in delivering early education and childcare quality places will be vital to the project’s success.

You will be joining the Start Well Service and cross- Local Authority team of officers responsible for delivery of early education and childcare at an exciting time with the expansion and growth of the early education and childcare sector.
