Refuse Driver
Waste and Recycling Team
39.5 hours per week (including 30 minutes contractual overtime each day)
Grade E Scp 11 £25,979 to Scp 17 £28,770
Permanent Contract
Essential Requirements – Current valid driving licence, Full Class 2 HGV licence, current and up to date CPC, Age restrictions apply - must be at least 21 years old.
Must have at least 12 months consecutive HGV driving experience within 3-year period.
The Role:
The Waste and Recycling department are looking to appoint qualified and professional Refuse Drivers.
Working across a range of waste streams (residual, recycling and green) you will be expected to safely operate various types of collection vehicles, continually improve round efficiencies and drive performance.
Working as part of a team, you will provide Bolton’s waste collection function to householders across the borough.
You will help to improve recycling culture, increase recycling rates, and reduce litter on our streets.
About You:
Refuse Drivers are the cornerstone of our operations. You will be professional, organised, and meticulous in your approach. Happy to work in all weathers and with high level of physical fitness, you will be task focussed and motivated to get the job done.
Previous experience is desirable, and you will be expected to follow instructions and work to strict deadlines. A flexible approach to working hours is essential as operations commence early each day and on Bank Holidays.
As you will be working in the community a high level of customer care and ability to influence recycling behaviours are essential.
