We are seeking enthusiastic full time (37 hours) Residential Support Workers to work within our well-established successfully run children’s homes within the Bolton Area.

 

The teams provide essential and valuable care to children and young people aged 8 to 17 years  who may present with a range of complex needs, ensuring each child always feels safe and secure in their environment.

 

We are looking for committed and passionate individuals who can engage with young people, encourage, and mentor them during their time in our care.

 

The role will consist of utilizing the computer systems to develop and maintain individual care plans inline with the Childrens Homes Regulations.

 

A rota system is in operations as we are a 365 day a year service. Sleep in duties are required along with weekday and weekend working hours.

 

We provide regular supervision and a variety of training opportunities are available. Some of our Residential Support Workers have gone on to train as qualified social workers.

 

 

About You

 

The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent organisational and communication skills, a ‘can do’ approach and be committed to improving outcomes for young people.

 

The successful candidate will work in partnership with young people, their families and as part of a multi-agency team to support young people to make progress, achieve their full potential, enjoy and achieve, build resilience and reduce risk taking behaviour.

 

You will have experience of working with young people who present with emotional and behavioural difficulties. Understanding the needs of looked after children and their families is also essential. You must also  be prepared to adapt to different scenario' which may occur whilst on shift and be able to manage potential challenging behaviours.

 

 The post requires a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent or a commitment from you to achieve the qualification within two years of appointment.
