Here at Wilfred Geere House, we have an exciting opportunity for you to become part of our dynamic, supportive team. We are looking for a dedicated, compassionate senior carer to join our CQC “good” rated service. You must be experienced in providing care and should have experience of, or be willing to, managing a small team.

 

What do we do?

We provide 24-hour residential care for service users who require continuation of care and rehabilitation. The aim of the Units is to support residents to regain as much independence as deemed achievable and return home or move onto alternative care arrangements. At Bolton Council we recognise the skills individuals can bring and promote joint working, with both NHS staff and local authority staff working on-site.

About You

Essential:

·       You must be experienced in providing care in a formal setting, such as a care or residential home.

·       You should be friendly and approachable, and willing to join a hard-working, dedicated existing team of Senior Care Assistants and Care Supervisors.

Desirable:

·       You should have some care qualifications and be willing to complete more training as required.

·       You should be used to supporting, directing and managing staff, or be willing to learn.

 

What will your working week look like?

·       14 hours a week

·       Rolling 4-week rota

·       Working between 7:15am – 10:15pm dependant on shift pattern:

o   7:15am-2:45pm OR

o   2:30pm-10:00pm

·       Weekend on/ weekend off basis to promote work/life balance.

·       You will be working alongside the care supervisor, assisting to manage a small team, administering medication, ensuring compliance with training, policies and procedures, assisting with rostering, auditing, assisting with admissions, and above all, ensuring high-quality delivery of care to service users.

Due to the limited number of hours available for this position, we are willing to offer additional peripatetic care hours for the right candidate. Please note this will be paid at Grade C SCP 4, with the 7% enhancement for evening and weekend working. These hours need to be flexible to meet the needs of the service and can be planned up to 4 weeks in advance.
