Job Description


Working in various communities across the borough you will be part of a responsive team that engages young people involved in or at risk of anti-social behaviour.  You will offer support and guidance for young people and signpost them into local positive activities. Alongside that you will support the team leader to attend multi agency meetings and pull together projects to deliver whilst doing the outreach / detached work. You will also work with other youth providers who offer outreach session and contribute to a plan of targeted approach with children and young people.

Working in partnership with the Local Area Policing Team you will actively engage with young people in the community and signpost them to Play & Youth Service provision.  The hours will be worked over Tuesday to Saturday evenings, but this can change dependent on the needs of the service.

About You

Happy to work in all weathers and a real passion for working with young people and the community.  You will need to be patient, a good communicator and have the ability to use your initiative in an ever-changing environment.  With a basic level of fitness, you will be happy to walk in various communities during unsociable hours.  You will have the ability to complete monitoring forms and reports based on the information gathered during the sessions. Be confident in attending multi agency meetings. You must have experience of working in the youth / outreach / detached field of work.
